Really enjoyed this book. Shani Mootoo gets right into the heads of the main characters very well, and you're drawn right into their thoughts. Feels like a cliff hanger at the end.

New year, foggy mind
3 stars
The writing in this book is beautiful, but I struggled to keep up with the characters and the generation changes, so I'm thinking it's my fault more than the author's.
ks reviewed Orbital by Samantha Harvey
Space station drama
5 stars
Short book, but very thoughtful and actually makes you feel like you're in orbit with the crew on the space station. Every day, they're amazed to look back on our little blue dot in the universe. The notion of having 8 ? sunrises and sunsets per day while they orbit I found fascinating.

Tough subject but very funny
5 stars
Gilda is a depressed, hypochondriac, atheist lesbian who gets a job as a secretary in a Catholic church. Had no idea what this was going to be about, but I really enjoyed it.
